It were Turkish immigrants who originally introduced coffee in Spain, and though hardly any coffee was actually grown in Spain, their ships carried coffee plants and seeds to many remote areas all around the world. The Spaniards also invented a method to roast the coffee beans that resulted in very dark, nearly black beans that produce a very strong coffee, known as Spanish roast or Dark French Roast.
Today one of the most popular coffees in Spain, especially as first cup of the day, is Cafe con Leche.
Cafe con Leche
1 cup very strong black coffee
1 cup hot milk
1 cup very strong black coffee

Simultaneously pour coffee and milk into a large cup. You can also start by pouring half the milk in a large cup, slowly add the coffee and add milk to ones taste.
